Topic starter  

Not getting connected to inverter via local network. Followed instructions in the manual but keep getting "page cannot be loaded" or "page cannot be found". Also cannot find instructions for connecting to the server in order to remotely monitor/ control inverter ( MQTT). Please give me some advice.

OK.  First, have you been able to get the inverter connected to a WiFi network?

 

Once it's connected to a WiFi network, the local network access should be fairly easy from there.  On the WIFI page, you can scroll down to the MD line to see the local inverter path.

 

Remote server address is "wifi.genetrysolar.com"; we are working on a website redesign to get everything fully integrated, but at the current time it's a tad crude.

If you create an account on the "wifi.genetrysolar.com" page, you can then add the inverter to the account via inverter ID (WIFI page -> scroll down to ID line to read it.)

Hey Sid, thanks for the reply. 

I did get the inverter connected to the wifi and followed the instructions for local network connection but kept getting the error message. I'll try the remote access and see if that works.

Local network DOES work, though depending on your web browser, you may have to experiment with the ".local" or the ".lan" suffix on the path.  Alternatively, you can try typing the listed "IP" into your web browser (which also must be connected to the same WiFi network as the inverter.)  That should also pull up the local server--though it is worth noting that the IP address is assigned by the WiFi router, and may change (which is why the mDNS option is provided).

Hey Sid,

 I just started working with my new  gs6k and I’m having a few obstacles getting the remote feature of this inverter working. I’ve connected to Wi-Fi and can get screen mirroring to function and can control inverter while in range (Wi-Fi). I’ve started on a path to register my inverter on                  Wi-Fi.Genetrysolar.com but am not quite familiar with what it’s registration is looking for here.
 
your account + mqtt server email address 

your account + Mqtt access password 


Thank you so much for your patience. Time and understanding. I purchased four of these inverters and I’m excited to get them all synced up with the new rev c boards.

So I'm aware that the remote server needs a full redesign at some point.  But currently, the "wifi.genetrysolar.com" login process credentials can also be used to pull inverter data from the MQTT server programmatically--if you were so inclined.  If that's not your plan, then you can just use it as a normal login.

I mean I would like to have the four gs6k power my house (24kw). Haven’t gotten that far as I’ve only received one inverter so far, (Sean and you I’m sure are working on it, along with many other aspects I’m sure)(Sean did mention gs12k was first : )  but said you guys could have the rest completed by years end. 

 but as I currently understand it, I would have one master and three slaves, two on L and two on L2. 
  I intend to have them ac coupled to a solaredge 5-7.6kw grid tie.

Oh, no, no, no......

...yes, I know we need a revised website, which hopefully will clear a lot of this stuff up.  After having gotten the updated specification manuals to the factory several weeks back, I've just started on updating the user manual.

 

MD = mDNS path.  You can use this to access your inverter via local network.  (Appears you're running 1.1r6; I am hoping to release 1.2r0 as soon as it has been reasonably tested...which has a completely revised local server, etc., etc.)

IP = inverter's local IP address.

ID = Genetry inverter ID number.  After creating an account on the "wifi.genetrysolar.com" website, then you would go to Inverters -> Add Inverter By ID:

then enter in the full "ID" number (including the "GS" prefix) into the dialog, give it a "display name", and then click "Add to Account."

Page should reload, and it should  show the inverter status.

That's a bit....complicated.

If you have just one inverter as of now, is it configured for 240v split-phase output, or 120v single-phase output?

Yes, im using it split phase 240v. I’m currently building a ~ 25kwh 14s ion bank. It’s divided it to 5 ~5kwh packs. I wanted a modular design on both batteries and inverters. Originally purchased a 30kw power jack that am fixing a second time, blew the fets when grid went down and back on during a storm. 
  Actually, I’m having a little trouble with the gs6k noticing grid power. I did charge from it today about 4 hours or so, and I was able to set voltage Parameters, amperage, ect. Took it to the shed to do a thermal test on my 3rd battery bank, pulled ~100battery amps for about 45min, off and on as ac kicked in and out. Max output from inverter was 11,xxxwatts starting ac compressor w oven on. 
  Now when I go to charge the battery from grid it doesn’t even notice grid power. Any suggestions?

What control board revision is in your inverter?  (STAT page, 2nd line)

OK.  Have you double-checked with multimeter that AC input is actually going to the inverter's input terminals?

and you're saying it's registering 0 volts on the input side on the screen?
