Well, true. just you be dragging your rear down the road. Thing is, having the room, as big as I hearing those things are, seems like you be lucky to even fit it in y our oddasy. unless you take out the seats 😛

Seats are the first thing out. Then load it with 30 sheets of 5/8 drywall...yes, an Odyssey will take a 4x8 sheet of material. Or a dozen solar panels. Or...!
Yup, it does look a little overloaded, but I still get 25MPG highway 😉

It isn't overloaded till it looks like this.

Well, I can't see, so no idea, but if I had to guess, its probley about 2 inches off the ground with the tires nearly busting from over loaded.

Picture an '80s hatchback with about 8 pallets worth of boxes neatly stacked all over the top of it, almost tripling its height...stacked up 12 feet from the front of the hood, to the back of the (raised) liftgate, which is held up by a pallet stuffed into the back of the hatchback. Something a 3rd world country would do on a regular basis...and yes, the shocks/springs are on the snubbers.
I guess the heaviest I've ever taken the Odyssey was with 8 sealed lead acid batteries in it (rated 99lbs each, so 792lbs)...plus a dozen SolarWorld SW245 panels (48.5lbs each, so 582lbs) plus me and a brother (figure 300lbs). That's roughly 1,700lbs--yeah, I've done it before. All 4 shocks were firmly on the snubbers, and we had to switch Overdrive off to maintain speed up any hills on the interstate 😉
More recently I carried 1,402lbs of panels, plus lots of other misc. stuff (some of it >100lbs) in the '08 Odyssey--so we were probably very near exactly double the weight limit. Went across the state line for that one...
The little minivan that could. Has close to 200k miles on it, and has been very reliable.
Hey Sid, I'm ready to put in that order for the custom mod 6kw, should have the funds tomorrow. Around the end of the month you think before you can ship?

Barring any unforeseen delays...probably more realistically like the 1st full week of April. Last I heard (this past Thursday, March 11), the 2nd shipment was "delayed", expected to arrive in port on March 21st. It then has to clear customs (less than a week I hope), then ship via UPS to Sean's place (figure a week)...then he has to setup the inverter (as well as order custom parts) and send it out.
Do you have a preference for the "power switch bypass" jack? I know I have panel mount 1/8" phone jacks...and almost certainly have some panel mount 1/4" phone jacks. Any chance you have plugs for 'em? Or is there a specific connector you want?
Here's a (stock) photo of a 1/4" phone jack (just so we're on the same page)
<img alt="1/4" Stereo Phone Jack Chassis Mount" data-ratio="75.08" style="width:389px;height:389px;margin:0px;" width="999" data-src=" ?resizeid=106&resizeh=1200&resizew=1200" src="/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png">
Likely the hole for it will be drilled somewhere near the power button (which is above the LCD), unless you want it somewhere else?
Yeah, the 1/4" works for me & I can get a plug if you can't supply 1 with it. The unit will be wall mounted so I'd prefer the jack to be anywhere on the top of the box, on the left side preferably.
As you say it will be single phase on both outputs so combining both hots & neutrals together on the output block for the full 6kw will be ok?
I understand the output voltage is adjustable? Is that adjustment internal or can be changed from the front panel control? I want 120v output.
Funds should be in my bank Monday & will call in the order as soon as I see it's there. Thx.... Bob

TBH I'd be pulling from my hobbyist "junk box"...so I might be able to find a plug to go with it. Of course I could buy a set--but I'm sending Sean a shipment here Monday, and I'd like to be able to throw it in the box.

Can you indicate exactly where on a photo of the inverter lid?

Completely controllable. You can set it from 85-140vAC output via the WiFi board. Output frequency can also be calibrated in ~0.1Hz steps. As can power save settings (and auto power-save battery threshold voltage).
Here's the output settings screen on my house inverter (this is 1 of 5 config pages, most of which scroll on the screen)

Note that it is impossible to get an absolutely perfect 60Hz from a 4MHz clock source--the best we can do is get it pretty close.

Like mentioned earlier, I have in mind L - N - L - N - L(Input), so you'll have 2 "hot" and 2 "neutral" lines; full 50A single-phase output will be perfectly fine. (Note that the text cutouts on the chassis are for 240v split-phase...not much we can do about that!)
Probably should link this thread in your contact to Sean--as well as noting that he should talk with Sid about this inverter.
If the inverter pic is orientated where the display screen is in it's proper viewing angle then the remote plug could go anywhere on the top of the case from above the display & maybe off to the left of a bit & set back about a third the distance from the front would be ideal. but anything thereabouts would be fine. I'm sending back your pic with a black mark on it for the general location I'd prefer & I understand about the text cutouts for the output terminals. Thx
Should hear from me Monday with an order, am anxious to get it in & give it a workout. Cheers..... Bob

I'm thinking more towards the upper "fold" of the chassis, that way the wires stay out of the way and don't risk contacting the FET heatsinks. But yes, that is quite doable.
Be sure to note on your order (or when you talk to Sean) about this request. I've already okayed it 😉
I tried to place an order today, no answer or return call?

Groan. I just sent him a message. Haven't heard too much all day, not sure what's up...
Sean is planning to call you in the morning. (Business hours are Monday-Friday 9 AM - 5 PM EST.)
We'll get this worked out.
Hey Sid, as I mentioned way back, I have no use for the built in charger. If that's a separate circuit that can be removed without affecting it, be my guest to strip it out & stick it on a shelf for a repair that needs it & depending on the weight of that part, might cut some of the shipping cost. I'll mention it again when I get the call to place the order.
