It seems that they may have gotten a little better with the ASL cored units. But still wouldn't pull the rated Watts. Mine ( GS ) has been getting hammered today by the heat. Officially it is 89° out but with a heat index of 93-95. Shed temp nearly matches the heat index and the unit has been running the 8000 btu A/C to help keep the house cooler.

Ouch poor GS, minme will be inside my house. it be lucky to see 75f.  and you got one what GS? how much of a load you got on it then?

Maybe one of these days when you're really hammering it, you could take a photo of the Temp page, and share it here?  I'm just curious to see how a field unit is doing temp wise in a hot environment.

My power room is 86 right now and the temps right to left are:

83.1

94

104.2

91.4

107.6

Load is fairly light right now as 1 of 2 swamp coolers and a mini split are done for the day.

Now I need some advice... I tried running the central air off the GS inverter and scared myself (I'm well known for blowing **** up.) Odd flickering lights and funny sounds from other parts of the house. Estimated maybe 2-300 watts on the inverter when I turned on the ac. I'm guessing it pulls 5kw at startup. (We're having a really hot, early, summer that's already oppressive...so...)

I'm thinking another inverter in a daisy chain will be a whole lot safer????? Are gen 1 and 2 compatible for daisy chain?

Then we get into the question of deep well pump and jet pump that are running on a 6kw Sigineer I'd really like to get rid of... I'm listening...

105.9° Max on the first two of the listings, with an A temp ( last of the 5 ) of 98°, Transformer was at 104°. This is with the fans set at 105° for a max. Even my ammo can battery was warm to the touch yesterday. And if you watch the news, falling ash from the sky due to a 2500 acre fire about 7 miles from here which didn't help any with the temps as the wind was directly from that direction. That fire was 15% contained yesterday and it wasn't fit to be outside in with the smoke.

Today

89

Patchy Smoke

Tonight

75

Partly Cloudy

Tuesday

90

Patchy Smoke

They think we may get some rain Tuesday.  Which will be welcomed as we have been very dry (except the humidity which right now is 90% ) for the past two months.

Can't guarantee that a parallel/daisy setup will have a significantly higher surge capability, as the "master" inverter has to "call for help" to the slave inverters.  However, they'll still try to regulate voltage...so a sag in the power line will be an instantaneous "call to action."

All GS inverters will be compatible with daisy chain--after I get the code tested and working ;-).  Today's project, it looks to be quite the gloomy and rainy day, so nothing better to do than work on code.

How big is your central air (tonnage)?  I'd expect a surge of >70A easy on 240v if it's of any size--and especially if it's older.  Also, what voltage GS inverter do you have, and what size battery bank / cables?

If the Sigineer can run 'em, there shouldn't be any issue with the GS running them.  Assuming the Sigineer is the same voltage as the GS inverter?

Uhm, that have better be one big a$$$$$ AC to draw 70A. . .  mine is on right now and only draws 4800 watts,  by my sense app is saying it use 40kw last month.  I thought my ac uses less then that, didn't know it was that high. . . so with it and the 780 watts I'm useing idleing here with a 3d printer going I'll be pushing one GS near its limit.  Glad I got two of them then, so with the ac and water heater going thats going to put me near 10k and thats not including the dryer.  Looks like I need to save up for another gs inverter. . .or better yet, I'll just make sure myw ater heater is off until I need it. beats me lol.

70A startup surge easy for an older system, I'd estimate.  LRA (locked rotor amps) on those compressors can be pretty ridiculous.

Yeah, if your useing on of those old school AC that they used to use way back in the day, the whole unit was outside and all you had was a big square inlet.  They did suck the power, had on on a trailer, found out how much a power bill was if you try to make ice inside the trailer, my brother learned the hard way, cause I told him I ain't paying it, since I wasn't the one that wanted it below 50f. . .

Hitting F5 on you tube waiting to see Sean pop a vid of the dasy chain going. . . Then I'll know I'm getting my inverters this week, if not then I'll tac another three weeks. . .  😛  *Evil Smirk*

Ground hogs hat me, I will fill the hole with spray foam with a hose coming out, then pump setelin into the hole, then cap it off then have a eletric gril sparker inside th hole, and let it rip. no more ground hog, the ground is gone and the hog is cooked for the dogs. . . 😛 . . .

Ah, the good ol'fashioned brute force method 😉.  Gets the job done for sure.

Well good news, my AC kicked on, the Water heater kicked on, I was cooking something with my air cooker, and only used 8120 watts. come to find out the AC only uses 2371, I was looking at how much power it used as of today.  the water heater is 4500.  so I'll be good even if I run the drier I'll be pushing it, but it be on the edge of the max power.

How much lead way do the GS inverter have if it hits 6k?  I mean most things like the drier kicks ona nd off for a minute or two then kicks off.  was wondering if you came up with a max lmiite time or is it base on temp and time?
