So I heard that Sid got the PB Boards for the 12k.  I'm already looking at building a 48v battery.  wish there was a switch to change the VDC on a gs, that would be sweet if there was some kind of switch on the back side or bottem to change the voltage on the fly.  wonder if making relays that change the wireing on detecting the voatage level could be done. that would be neat.   Oh well, I'll start with a small 48v battery, and slowly build on that with the 12k, then after maybe a year, Sid can help me rewire the gs to 48v when the warrenty is gone lol.

It's been asked before, and is simply impractically nonsensical to try to make a 6-pole (I think!) 4-position switch rated at 600A.  For starters, it'd be at least half the size of the current 6kw inverter.  It would add considerable cost, weight, and be a major custom design.

Not to mention being completely unnecessary for an off-grid system--reconfiguring your battery voltage is a major undertaking, not to be flippantly done.

So true.  Switching from 12v to 24v means more panels to double the amprage need to charge.  More batteries. and to switch from 24v to 48v would be doulbe that.  I looked at my system, if I really wanna to upgrade to 48v all I would have to do is build two 240ah 24v batts and then I would be able to switch everything to it and be over 30kw of power.  Tempting, but after thinking about it, then you got to buy more panels. cause currently I 3.1kw when I get all my panels up just for 24v, and I'll still be adding more later. geesh.

I figured with the 12k gs inverter at 48v. I would at least need 300ah and maybe at least 4kw of panels to be able to charge my eletric car during the day time as long as I have it on daylight time.  |Wouldn't be the fastest charging by any means but I don't go hardly much at all maybe once a week on my ford exploder.  So that would work out just fine.
