Does the inverter still put out 240Volts if it is in UPS mode and fed only by 120 Volts?  I'd like to feed 120 to mine so I can do away with the transfer switch and let the inverter do the switching now.

And a suggestion for Sean. When shipping a unit, could you include a build sheet so that one knows what features are on/usable or not.

Absolutely.  Autoformer principle of the secondary.  Though this will double the input current required for output wattage...need to keep in mind the limits of the internal wiring / transformer spec.

Another one for you Sid. Is there a reason why the fans both need to come on at the same time? It would have seemed that the end of case fan should have come on first and if that were enough cooling, the second one would have stayed off. If the transformer started to get warm, then the second one would kick in to give even more airflow. With just the end fan running, the hot air would have used the top fan as an additional exit and taken the heat away from the transformer.

Default settings 😉.  You're welcome to tweak the fan control settings a bit; the 2 fans SHOULD be plugged into separate WiFi board channels.

Mine are not. They both are controlled by the one setting, Fan 1. And yes, I played around with the settings and that is how I found out they both are on the same one. I lowered Fan 1 to 105°F as the temp and left Fan 2 and 3 settings alone. When it got that hot, both came on.

Grr..........

Let me check with Sean on that.

In the WiFi Manual, it says that if the screen shows "Loss of CPU connection", that the CPU will detect that and shut down the inverter. But my unit has twice shown that on the screen but yet kept right on functioning. Did you change the coding so that even if CPU communications is lost that it keeps going until you power off and it restores communications?

There's a Wifi Manual?!  May I have the link to this and perhaps also the GS manual?

You're not by chance related to THE Mr. Waterman, my high school chemistry teacher and author of the textbook?

The manual for the WiFi board is on GS's website. https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5c728648ebfc7fc0696f1308/t/5e84e4bef47b1b12ac1c9f99/1585767620905/WiFi+Board+Manual+(1.0r16).pdf

No GS Inverter manual yet as Sid is tied up a bit. 😉

And no, I'm not that person or related as far as I know. It is my internet nickname as I was born on an island, have Pieces as my sign, and worked in flood control, uh, water mismanagement.😁

I presume your inverter is under heavy loads when it shows "No CPU connection" briefly?  All that EMI in the chassis...

Yes, the inverter will shut down if the WiFi board comm is solidly broken for about 10 seconds.  Brief communication fails will not shut it down--that'd be really annoying.

Embarrassingly out of date...that's 1.0r16, and all the inverters are shipping with 1.1r0 or 1.1r1........but many of the general concepts are the same.

Actually no. It seems to do it at random and not under a heavy load at all. It happens when the load is less than 1K as I have not started loading it yet. That will come later as now I have my transfer switch design worked out. Next one will be built for all the power it can throw at it in 240V.  With thoughts of doing away with the 50 Amp manual transfer switch.

Weird.  At least it isn't hurting anything.
