Do anyone have settings for this? I have the high speed fans but they only come on 100% full blast.

Speaking of fans. I have pj version 9 that I modded a fan above the transformer. But does anyone know how to hook up this fan to WiFi board?

"THE" high speed fans, as in GS high-speed fans??

If so, the PWM frequency must be set to ~20KHz, or they don't function.

Took quite some digging to turn up a proper datasheet for that fan: https://www.distrelec.biz/Web/Downloads/_t/ds/2218F_2TDHHO_eng_tds.pdf

According to the datasheet:

  • RED -> red on WiFi board (double check the silkscreen on the back of the board just to be sure!)
  • BLUE -> black on WiFi board
  • VIOLET -> white on WiFi board
  • WHITE -> yellow on WiFi board (not used)

Things to be aware of:

  • PWM maximum voltage of the fan is 10v.   However, the GS WiFi board runs roughly 10.5-11vDC on the PWM line; this may likely cause fan failure unless you add some protection circuitry.

    • Easiest option is to use a regular signal diode, negative side facing the WiFi board, positive side facing the fan.  This will make any positive voltage on the PWM wire be sourced from the fan, not the WiFi board.
    • Alternatively, you can use a common 5.6v zener to drop the voltage further yet
  • Ideal frequency specified in the datasheet is 2KHz.

Note on the WiFi board that there are 6 4-pin fan connectors, but these are each paired up...2 connectors for channel "A", 2 for "B", 3 for "C", etc.  If you are running different fan frequencies for different fans, you will have to use different channels to attain this.

The high speed fans sound a lot better now that I set the right setting to 20hz. Thanks Sid you are the Man!
