Happy to report that my balancers arrived in today's mail!

Mine too. But the insulators are in Miami so it may be a few days yet before they are delivered. We have really bad mail service at times down here. Now I need to get the holes drilled and tapped on the heatsink.

I am quite aware that I didn't put the "panelized" balancers on a specific spacing...actually intended for them to be "snapped" apart and put into existing holes.  But this is something I will plan to address on the next order.

Looking forward to feedback as to how they work for you.

Looks like 1.1" between holes to me.🙂 I wonder how hot they will get with them still hooked together on a heatsink.

Depends how good your heatsink is 😉

I'm planning on leaving mine hooked together also.  My heatsink is massive so should handle it ok.  2 sets of 8 on one huge heatsink.  Putting a temp controlled fan on it too so should be good.

The area under the fins is a quarter inch thick. So just that alone is a big thermal sink. But as you know, I have to have a large one to make up for the natural thermal load.

Sid, I have looked all over and I think something is missing from the balancers.

You didn't put the designer's initials on them. 😜

Look under the LCD.  Haha, I can be sneaky 😉.  Might be tiny print, but it's there.  At least I didn't put it under the MCU...that'd be kinda like a painter signing the wall before painting it I guess.

aNYBODY GOT A LINK TO A  HEAT SINK THAT WOULD BE BEST FOR THESE ONCE i GET THEM AS WELL AS A LINK TO WHAT KIND OF INSALATOR i NEED FOR THEM.

Most people would use Mica ones but down here, they tend to breakdown so ordered silicone ones. Seems we have too much moisture in the air which gets picked up by the dust we also have in the air. 60% humidity at 88° at 1600 whereas it will be 98% humidity at 72° in the morning. That means anything cooled down will attract moisture in the morning as the temp rises in the air. The size ones you want are for TO-247 transistors.

Well that don't help to know what to get, so will this work?

Only by the picture, the fin spacing on that heatsink would make life difficult in terms of drilling holes and feeding screws through (nut would go on the component side of the setup for ease).

I am going to just drill and tap the holes and use nylon screws.   I have silicone thermal pads too but using them just because I already have a bunch.  I just recycled 25 computers so going to use processor heat sinks, I know won't be fancy but I hate buying stuff.

Getting mine of order today just remembered after seeing your messages.

But it would work right?  I mean drilling isn't a issue, I have a drill press to deal with that part, and I can order some more m6 bolts that are long enough.  If I can get the board, heat sink on and it takes up less then 3:, I got something that will be used to hold the fans and keep the sinks cooled down.  I got some 40m fans that I can used that are 24v for my setup I could attach those on the heat sink if need be as well.  Oh Sid, I forgot, but, what size wire did you recommend for these?  and are the balancers that sean going to send already have the thing set for the battery type or do I still have to bridge that.

The balancers that Sean has sent (I believe!) are set for Li-Ion.

16AWG wire should be fine, just keep it reasonably short.
