I am not at all familiar with EG8010 component.... like to hear your feedback.

I  do not recieve the  EG8010 board yet  and know nothing  about  the EG8010 .    I  will try the EG8010  board  on my 15kw  ASL9.0 transformer  with a  4000 watt  resistive load like a water heater .     Maybe  the EG8010 will be a replacement  for the rev 11.3 control board .  Someone on youtube  comment that he  use the EG8010  to replace the PJ  control board .    I  think  only  the GS12kw  will be  useful to run a 4 ton heat pump in the summer  where I live .    Someone on youtube say his  Growatt 12kw  will not run his house 4 ton heat pump  but will rum his mini split in the garage .

so a GS 12kw  will work  by  running a portable  14kw AC  to cool the inverter  and the  GS 12kw will run the 4 ton heqt pump  at the same time .

correction  14kw AC  should be  14000 BTU portable  AC  .

yes i was wondering if a mini-split would be a more efficient option as they seem to be what more people rave about..

it seems that heat is a terrible issue where you are now, so putting the inverter in an air conditioned room with the batteries would seem to be an acceptable possible solution. a box with sound deadening and a small mini-split type heat pump to keep the inverter and batteries cool and functioning, probably your charge controllers also...i would not like the neighbors being able to complain and B**** so the rural country life is the way for me....

i like the many things available in the city but have utilized the online way to have many things shipped and avoid the cost of running a pick up truck or car into town as often... out on the off-grid farm....

i definitely understand the need for a big inverter to power up a large AC system...the start up current is what i have been watching all along being the hard part and reason for wanting the LF inverters...

i don't want things shutting down in the cold but for you shutting down in the heat is the problem to overcome...

at any rate please provide follow-up on how the replacement board works out... thanks for your time and efforts...😎

The SEER rating is much more of an efficiency guideline; it's worth noting that larger mini-split units' efficiency often isn't significantly higher than a regular A/C unit.  You only get extreme efficiency (>30 SEER) with the very small (3/4 ton) mini-split units.

However, due to MOST mini-split units on the market today being variable-speed, there is NO surge at startup.  My Pioneer basically starts from 0A and slowly throttles up to full 8-9A load over several minutes--an absolutely beautiful load from an inverter's perspective.  Contrast that to a regular A/C that's a single-speed with a 5x startup surge.

Switching to an Aliexpress inverter board might stop your lights from noticeably flickering--but the transformer will still overheat just the same.

i did note that the Aliexpress site for the 12000 watt inverter board for 48-volt battery was looking to mate up with a 28-volt transformer... vs the 32-volt on the powerjack... hmmmm hmmmm??

i remember something where someone was talking about 28-volt as a better transformer voltage for the inverter boards for some reason..... ???? i will have to research/learn more about that issue more....

A very small mini-split unit say 3/4 ton as Sid talks about to cool a smaller insulated space for the inverter and batteries and charge controllers would be an excellent choice for the inverter life...

I have seen others on YouTube promote them but figured just some other expensive item >>>un-repairable by a DIYer in the field.. I think one has to figure in the price and projected life of the new appliances....(heat pump mini-split units) >>> I bought a brand new unused small window air conditioner for 30 bucks at a garage sale. we only air condition a couple rooms in the ancient 2 story farm house....

But i like the idea of the super-efficient mini-split heat pump (seer 30) but their price and maintenance expense not so much....

insulation was the biggest money saver for me....

I prefer to lessen the electrical power load where I can, but still want to be able to use anything electrical I choose....I know my friend's air to air heat pump does not work well below 30 degrees Fahrenheit,,, but some models out now claim to work in frigid temperatures... if one can go all electric via inverters and solar and get away from petroleum use in the off-grid setup that is my goal...

Personally, I am not interested in running a gas or diesel powered generator or hooking up to the grid in any way...

I wore out 4 gas & diesel generators in Bolivia South America, they are just noisy and cost a lot to run/maintain. I have a 110 HP 4x4 diesel tractor that is expensive to run down there though....be a while before good electric tractors are a workable solution in the mountains... sorry I digress again....

The sun is out strong today and no wind this morning in rural South Dakota at the off-grid farm! yes indeed a beautiful day!

cheers all 😎

the arc photos below were progress on the new extension at my Pilgrim Valley farm in Bolivia...this i going to be a roof top garden above the carniceria(slaughter floor below) this is in southern Bolivia in the remote mountains about 1.5 hours to town.... we have a 220 2 wire electric grid there now....

My  EG8010  inverter board  was lost by USPS  when  tranfer from  speed pak to the USA .   Now I have to get a refund  from  ebay  .    I do not know if I will  order another  EG8010  as  I am  able to use the  15kw PJ  for  24 hours  when the outside  temperature  is  less then  70 degree  F   but not now  at 90 degree  F  in the afternoon .

The ideal voltage for a transformer primary is subjective.  Dividing a DC voltage by the square root of 2 will give you the MAXIMUM theoretical AC voltage that can be generated (without running the AC wave into saturation).

If the EG8010 boards can't run into SPWM saturation, they will be unable to maintain the desired output voltage if the transformer losses exceed the available headroom (i.e. maximum AC voltage possible - transformer primary AC voltage).   This alone may be the reason for the lower voltage spec.

Though it is worth noting that the larger the headroom available (i.e. the lower the transformer primary voltage vs the maximum AC output possible from the inverter board), the more strain is put on the primary-side power circuitry.

An EG8010-based inverter board will not solve the overheating problem.  The PJ transformer overheats because the windings are far too thin for the claimed wattage--and unless you replace the transformer, the problem will not be resolved.

When it comes to aircon getting the right capacity unit for the space being cooled is more important than inverter vs non-inverter.  A bog standard dumb as a brick box aircon will do the job nicely.  The compressor start current won't be terrible.  If guarding against longer high current draws resulting compressor stalls due to short cycling etc is a concern a basic lockout timer off <your favourite cheap place here> will take care of that.  Will Prowse of youtube fame heavily insulated a garden shed and put a box aircon in to keep an installation cool and it ran on the smell of a warm solar panel.

I think this is the last clip in the series.  As you can see it's not a 100% professional insulation job, ie well within the abilities of even a level 0 skill DIYer.  A more sensible temperature setting, say 25c, instead of 21c would see even lower consumption but still be well within the happy place for the equipment.  25c is the point at which a lot of this stuff is spec'd.  He did use a box unit with smarts but not sure if it was an inverter type.  Inverter type energy efficiency when cooling often comes down to the refrigerant used rather than it being an inverter.

Answer: 25° Celsius is equivalent to 77° Fahrenheit

I always have to convert to Fahrenheit.

i never saw anyplace where they mentioned the EG8010 board on the Aliexpress version 12000 watt inverter board so may not even be the same board....EG8010 is a processor i take it....

the Aliexpress 12000 watt 48-volt inverter board that i showed pictures of is considerably different than the eBay board...but no tiny details about it were in the advertisement....

photo above:

it is a lot longer inverter board than the eBay one with (it looks like) 11 capacitors and 28 mosfets on the heat sinks... but may or may not be an improvement.....to the powerjack design...

hy4008 mosfet???

HOOYI HY4008 | MOSFET. HY4008W/A N-Channel Enhancement Mode MOSFET Features • 80V/200A RDS(ON) = 2.9 mΩ (typ.) @ VGS=10V .

not sure if it is the same mosfet or not...for the Aliexpress inverter board which the seller advertisement claims is stable?? but then essentially rebuilding the inverter....

just curious at this time about it but not buying one right now.... the Aliexpress inverter board.... no mention of an eg8010 part that i can see...

my South Dakota 8 foot x 8 foot x 8 foot off-grid solar power shed is super-insulated and you can not hear any noise until you open the door....main problem is it needs to be bigger,,,,, plus it needs an air conditioner for this summer... it is packed with batteries, inverters, charge controllers, fuses, tools, etc and covered with white steel pro-panel. i opened it up at night with a screen door to cool it off last summer....plan to build a bigger one soon.....waiting to pour a concrete foundation for a multi-purpose larger solar power shed....

cheers all and thanks for all the information,😎

i will study up on the eg8010 component and may send message to the Aliexpress seller for a few more details of the 12000 watt inverter board they sell??? not needing it right this moment though...

1.41421356237 is the square root of 2

so 32 volt divided by 1.41421356237 = 22.62741699801904

hmmm so the inverter board would (getting over my head again) confused although you can buy a board that puts out 120 volts...60hz or 240 volts @60Hz

stop and study more of what I am being told??

whoa????? whoa....
