The transformer is probably not the weak link. I think Sid thinks it the FETs, and maybe the lack of capacitors.

Don't know where that came from...I have always said that the transformer IS the weak link.
Poor FET driving and cheap caps just don't help.

ASL2.0 transformer should NOT be in any 8000 watt inverter . ASL4.0 and ASL5.0 transformer should start any 1/2 hp well pump .
I have several duplicate powerjack inverters to play with in the future but none have ever shut down or failed yet so the 2 transformer in one inverter will have to wait. I normally try to get a back up identical for every inverter I buy.....
the newer eg4 6500ex has promise as they can put 6 in parallel at 6500 watts each with built in 500volt mppt so could avoid the combiner box expense....and simplify the wiring....
the EG4 6500ex is not exactly the LF inverter but is quite capable so they say/claim at $1299 each>>>>the EG4 inverter/mppt that is supposed to have UL listing (maybe please the local electrical inspector with jurisdiction)...one has to watch to see how they develop....could be a viable 39k inverter with 6 for the large shop or home of your dreams.....
hopefully the future continues to bring ever improving products to the DIY off-grid homestead....they seem to be getting more plug and play with some developments...
have a great Tuesday 😎
I do not have a well pump at this off-grid South Dakota farm site but have an artesian well i use for the livestock and pond...and a rural water system so can utilize the excess solar PV for heat in the winter more and various electrical machines in the shop....
i do have 100 foot drilled wells and well pumps connected to the grid on 3 other rural acreages but not working the solar PV angle there yet....maybe if a dependable honest renter of long term duration can be found,,,,🤔
so the 2 transformer in one inverter will have to wait.
This my last post on this idea of 2 transformers on one inverter . Do not even think about it and just NOT do it . IF your PJ works then just use it and NOT play with it . Bye .
