General Rules and Guidelines

Standard Guidelines:

• No excessive use of profanity. It is unprofessional, offensive and will not be tolerated.
• No racial, ethnic, political, gender based insults or any other personal discrimination.
• No posts meant to offend or hurt any other member in a manner which is offensive or inflammatory. You may not make personal attacks on other users or staff members either in our public forums or by using private messages (PM).
• Pornography, Warez, or any other illegal transactions may NOT be linked in any way.
• We require all posts to be positive, constructive, and on topic. We may delete individual posts that could ruin a good topic thread.
• Users may not argue a Moderator's decision publicly. Any and all complaints directed at a moderator must first be addressed via a PM. If the problem cannot be resolved, the forum Administrators may be contacted to make or change the final decision.
• Pictures may be posted as long as they are not explicit or offensive
• Post your topics in the appropriate forum. If a topic is recognized as being posted in the wrong forum, the topic will be moved to the appropriate forum by one of our Moderators. If a post is in violation of our guidelines, it will be dealt with accordingly by one of our Moderators. Any person(s) who attempts to present themselves as a Moderator by posting negatively to another member's topic or post will be sent a PM warning.
• Renewable Energy is widely spread throughout the world. You know that, we know that. But since we can't translate everything that is posted in the board we must ask you to post only in English. Don't use another language (Portuguese, French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, etc..), otherwise your post will be edited by one of the Moderators and/or Administrators. This doesn't apply to personal messages (PM) since they are based on a one-to-one conversation.

Membership Guidelines (If you, the member, have a problem with another member you can do one or more of the following):

Contact a Moderator. Each Moderator will take you seriously and help you in the best way possible.

Contact an Administrator. This should almost never be needed. If you get though the Moderators and still have a seriously good reason for explaining your problem then you can contact one of us. 

Note: Please understand that the staff is here full time to help you out. The message turn around time is very quick so simply PM the proper staff member and be a little patient. Your problem will be solved quickly.

Signature Guidelines:

Signature images may not be large. Text signatures are to be kept under 8 lines; please keep the font to a small size so your signature does not exceed the 150 height limits. Signatures with images and text below them may not have more than 4 lines of (small font) text. If your signature exceeds these limitations you will receive a request from a moderator to resize your image. Failure to do so will result in the removal of your signature.

• No flashing or annoying animation (annoying will be determined by the number of complaints your signature receives).
• No porn or foul language.
• No offensive content (offensive is defined as anything that generates a complaint; ranging from porn to preaching)
• No links to warez or illegal materials.
• No links to any site for "points". No blind links to generate income.
• No links to viruses, fake viruses, or anything which could be of a violent nature to anyone's PC.

What we expect:

• That you actively read topics and not just post replies which are not relevant to the topic. 
• That you do not participate in flame wars.
• That you post new topics in the correct forums.

Things which are not appreciated:

• Spamming, large amounts of useless replies. We are not interested in your post count, but in the quality of your posts.
• Make a lot of requests in a short amount of time.
• Asking for higher access. If the crew thinks you deserve better access, you will get it.

Things that will lead to the deletion of your account:

• Massive spamming
• Breaking the rules (repeatedly).

Warning System

The Warning System allows for members and staff to keep track of the warnings and suspensions an individual level receives. Members, regardless of Member Group, can only see their own Warning Levels. They are located on member profiles and when posting, at the bottom of the individual user information to the left of the post. Only staff can view everyone's Warning Level.

Note: Even though the warning system shows 5 levels, we are only using 4 as we are using a 3 strikes and you are out policy.

Warning Levels:

1. Level 1 - 1st Warning, No suspension, but a review of the rules and an agreement to follow them is expected
2. Level 2 - 2nd warning and 3 months suspension
3. Level 3 - 3rd warning and 6 months suspension
4. Level 4 - Permanent Ban

Admin Note:

This board is privately owned and operated. Membership of this board is not an automatic right of any user. It is only granted on the condition that users accept all rules. If these rules are not acceptable to you then please do not use the board. Any use of the board is taken as your agreement to the terms and conditions. These terms and conditions and all the rules herein may be subject to change without notice. It is the responsibility of all users to apprise themselves of all updates. To this end it is suggested that you re-read this document regularly.
