Right now, I've been useing Daily BMS, but recently just had yet another Daily BMS decide to not cut off when it reach cell voltage of 3.65 which is what I had it set to cut the charging off, it says it went off, however, it was showing that it was still takeing charge, and luckly I was around when this second battery was doing this, it went up to 15.44v. So, is there any better BMS to use besides these stupid Daily, I had one that basicly show it was on, but wasn't givine any output, and then this one that decide to run away.
a bank of cells went up to 3.95v as far as I saw when I caught what was going on. I removed the battery, and put it outside to make sure it didn't decide to run away, as when I unhooked it and moved it, I could feel the cells some of them felt a bit hot, but not overly so. after about a hour and watching the cell voltage they went down to 3.5 and just been sitting there, so I'm hopeing I don't have any bad cells otherwise I'm sure it would be showing phantom draining. These are LFO or what ever they call them these days LF4 cells, 220ah 3s. want to say these are the 32150 they got the K symbol from what I could feel on top. I'm basicly frankly done with makeing my own batteries. I've started buying ones that are built lol like Power Queen. I'm just useing my home built batts as storage, and not for amp draw to power my two GS inverters.
So, is there any better BMS to use besides these stupid Daily,
I would use a Dakota Charger if I use separate LIFEPO4 battery The Power Queen LIFEPO4 battery is safe .
Curious... how are you knowing that a particular cell is getting to high? Using a smart BMS or are you measuring manually?
If it's a smart BMS, and the reading is coming from the device itself, that seems quite strange assuming the device is still configured correctly.
Really sad if this is actually happening. Literally failing at it's basic most function.
Yep its a smart daily bms with a bluetooth and I can watch it on my I pad as it charging, and yes, I checked to make sure its reading correctly and it is. These daily bms seems to be junk. I still have several others with them, but they are working fine for the moment. Either way, I'm going to rebalance the battery, and buy a 30a 12v bms and a 200a relay and use the 30a bms to trigger the negative side on and off , as wel I go to finish up sid balancers and I'm going to place them on this battery to keep it from over chargeing the cells as well.
