PowerJack 20,000 watt split phase pure sine wave ASL9 11.0 48-volt inverter in a Stainless steel case.

there is no charge function or any of that....nor do I want that,

for replacement parts just in case....(no warranty, no returns )

I just received it today...November 16th 2022 via the eBay vender

it was sold as a parts machine but seems fully intact.... I do hear something loose inside so maybe pop the top tomorrow if I have time, not like I can jostle this beast around very easily....

A gamble I am sure but,,,,I have the winter to work on things....

$470.23 including shipping and tax for the 130 plus pound beast...

not the shrunken toroidal transformer AMG versions they are passing off to people now...

PowerJack 20000 watt PSW SP LF parts inverter: received yesterday November 16th, 2022...via eBay from California

the picture above is the label on the bottom of the transformer taken via my el cheapo android cellular TracFone so I can email it to myself to be able to post on this forum.... I was outside in the 25 degree cold wind of South Dakota unboxing it so I would not have to hear the comment from the other half....then I took it out to the barn to the shop and covered the PowerJack 20000 watt PSW LF SP inverter for the night...today I will get it up on a dolly at a more workable height, hopefully without killing my back too much...the picture is not very good as my angle was poor as the inverter was standing on its end as I was trying to get it loaded on the 4 wheel wagon to haul it to the barn....I am currently working on electrifying the ancient two story 40x50 barn with solar for my winter project...

all is off-grid...

a young buck would have not as much problem lifting the 130 pound plus inverter, like Sean, but for me it is a heavy unit for sure. as well as for those Fedex delivery drivers who could not give a flying rat's rear end about your precious parcel....but then again it appears the seller did not care much about the quality of the packaging to do an adequate packing of the 130 pound plus heavy beast....yea yea yea >>> whine whine whine>>> gets me no where🤔🤔😁😁

the warranty is as good as the ones/pieces and parts that Sean is selling used and advertising via his YouTube videos; but this is a complete unit...

it will give me some extra parts for the same/similar unit I already have that has the two LCD screens built in, or maybe a complete fully functional unit>>>cross my fingers!!!!

  • hope to get a few pictures later today as I open it up....the thing came in a double box but not the original box and there was no packing Styrofoam, it did have some poorly place black closed cell foam and bubble wrap covering nothing and the box was almost totally open on one end... I suspect after the FedEx guys tumbled it around from shipping point to shipping point as they could not adequately/safely lift it with one person and the two wheel dolly or else they just do not care about the customer things/parcels they deliver...I started to make a complaint on their automated system but really wanted to make a direct complaint to a live person at FedEx..
  •
  • as it came from the California eBay seller I only had to wait 5 days for it to arrive....a PowerJack vendor for sure, just an new seller name on eBay after the piece of paper scam
  • I have to be totally amazed as much of a bashing they get about their PowerJack inverters, that they do not block selling to ...... business...but likely do not understand/write/read English very well as it is often displayed in their eBay listings....
  • I would not trust ordering PowerJack shipped direct from China as they claimed they shipped me two other 30,000 watt inverters but sent the piece of paper scam to me...After 45 plus days I did get the money back via the credit card companies but hard to trust this manufacturing company.....and their contacts at skype said they quit and no answers via PowerJack Jack, etal etc,,,,I think they were just utilizing peoples money and decided they could not sell for what they advertised....but likely have minimal investment in the labor and parts expense in communist China....
  • more later have a great day 😎
  • the honey bee are in full work mode at my southern Bolivia mountain get away so that is great....it is spring there now... wish I was here but maybe I will when it gets colder here...😒
  • later all from a displaced farmboy.....

Sean  give NO warranty  and charge shipping  going and coming by UPS  which is better than  FED EX  .   Walnut CA  has a lot of  returned  inverter that  are sold on ebay with  FREE  shipping or 49 dollars shipping by David .    All inverter are new returned which are easy  to repair  with the  NEW rev  11.3  contol board   but the older  PJ  sold by Sean are very difficult  to repair  because  parts are no longer made by Powerjack  but  David  has  rev 11.3  control board  with modify ribbon cable  that will work with most older PJ  inverter .

... Wow. Did you want some bees?

My neighbor keeps bees. He's very allergic to them too.

yes, I have 5 bee starter bee hives now and will be transferring them to 5 larger 20 frame beehives soon... they are being started in the smaller 5 frame bee hives...the white and green hives are the larger 20 frame bee hives....I bought 5 of those ( there is 10 frames in the bottom and 10 frames in the top...they are made out of cedro and quina ((two very durable local wood species in Southern Bolivia where my mountain getaway retirement home is being developed and built for the past 22 years....)) i bought 5 of the larger 20 frame hives,,, an investment toward self sufficiency and great for pollinating the fruit trees and crops at the farm!!! 😎

UPS which is better than FED EX . Walnut CA has a lot of returned inverter that are sold on ebay

the shipping was $149 for the heavy 130 pound 20000 watt PowerJack LF PSW  SP customer return inverter out of walnut California,,,, FedEx don't care about the parcel nor did the PowerJack vender as they were giving no warranty and no returns anyways....the actual inverter cost something like $300 dollars plus $149 shipping plus tax to get a total delivered cost of $470.23....

it had no original boxing and no manual with the pretty girls on it or anything,(those normally enclosed manuals rarely have anything that actually gives correct information on their inverters anyway),,,the eBay PowerJack re-seller repackaging was quite poor but even after FedEx dropped it twice in front of me on the gravel driveway it was still intact (not the box though)....the FedEx driver quickly indicated he would sign for it for me when he said it was heavy and awkward....one end is definitely heavier than the other end...where the large toroidal transformer is located...

I did not get a chance to open it up yet (unbolt the top of the 20000 watt PowerJack 130 pound inverter for parts) as the big ram hair sheep was vaulting the fence right and left like a horse to rob the hay pile...so had to build a taller more secure fence...maybe a few days more as the honey dooo list has to come 1st today....😊😎

I have two things coming by FedEx on this Sunday....but they are new and definitely breakable,,,,FedEx delivered me some LIFePO4 cells last year but they were only 50 ponds per box....if they arrive with damage they will be sending me a new one!!!!

correction>>>actually it was buy it now for $349.99(eBay's vender buy it now price) and FedEx shipping was $99.99 and the balance South Dakota sales tax, for $470.23 total delivered cost....but still the same overall delivered price....

FedEx sucks >>>> as Tom Hanks referred to another different business in the movie!

Did you discover what is rattling? How will you test the mosfets and circuit boards?

How will you test the mosfets and circuit boards?

I made a test bench  with a 60vdc  5 amp power supply .   Test mosfet with muliti meter in diode mode .   Test the control board by power on with portable  power supply and  must  see at least  3 LED  on  steady .   My test main board has NO capacitor  and  4  good mosfets  for test purpose .      He did not have time  to  see what is  rattling  but I  guess the  transformer  bracket  and bolts are broken .   A transformer  rolling inside  will destroy the  control board  and the output board .   The transformer can be  repair easy since the  primary winding is the outside  winding .   The transformer  is still  worth 600 dollars .

PowerJack 20000 watt LF PSW SP parts inverter update:  130 plus pounds

the transformer bolt and transformer seem intact and all the transformer bolts are still intact on the bottom of the stainless steel case...the case on the exterior seems to have all bolts in place and none missing...it was 9 degrees F yesterday and after the alfalfa delivery and numerous honey dooo errands with the other half etc ... >>>>i never even uncovered the 20000 watt lf psw sp inverter parts machine... sorry no updates yet,,, but it will be interesting soon to open it up to see what part?? is rattling....sounds like a small bolt or nut or something floating about the case,,, but will be a bit hard to lift the 130 pound plus parts machine inverter from end to end to get it to roll out...i will get to it soon...

the top will unbolt and come off with the removal of a bunch of screw bolts ,,,,, I like this design,,,and it will still be supported via the 8 stereo style receiver feet on the bottom of the case...just have to locate the ratchet and sockets again and go out with some extension cords/lights etc to get going... no electric in the barn right now...

I will take some pictures>>> as I open it up for posting for help/ideas... thanks in advance...

20 degrees F this morning and it seems to snow a bit everyday the last 3-4 days here in South Dakota... so that makes me and my projects slow also...

thanks all, have a great weekend 😎

cold or not >>> curiosity still made me go out and take the top off of the PowerJack 20000 watt PSW LF SP parts inverter to find out what I bought....

I did not find the rattling part but suspect it was the missing bolt out of the back side panel which would have possibly been on the outside between the cardboard box and the stainless steel inverter's case....don't know for sure as i never found that one missing bolt yet...probably on the ground somewhere between the sidewalk at the house and the trip to the barnyard???

at any rate the only thing I found inside the inverter was a small green wire that looks like it went to the ring sensor that monitors the voltage on the wiring( forget the name at the moment...) of that piece...there are 3 tiny wires red black and green and the green has no home at the moment... (((hall sensor))) duh?

the massive toroidal transformer and all bolts and hold down brackets are in place....I do not see any damage what so ever except for the disconnected green wire on the sensor...wonder where it goes?

the inverter outer stainless steel case has a small corner ding possibly (for sure) but nothing else...there is the remnant of tape on the case(glue mark but the case was clean on the outside like it was never touched)...the stainless steel case has more smudges now after I have touched it.. stainless steel cases show all fingerprints, glove marks of dirty gloves etc....the downfall of the stainless steel cases!!!! this design of modularity of all case sides is a definite plus for assembly disassembly over the GS design changes (my opinion)...

the toroidal transformer inside measures about 10.25 inches in diameter....and I put it all on a small pallet on top of my 4 wheel garden wagon to remove the top....it was quite heavy so I had to carefully reposition it all to keep the wagon from popping a wheeley....

perhaps it will be a 10,000 watt inverter as they always seem to be over-rated according the the forum's banter and most of the YouTube videos I have been able to review....i won't push it to its ultimate limit anyway....that is for the gs'ers to do with their tests....

I bought a  3000 watt HF inverter and another 3500 watt HF inverter for the small occasional loads or the lighter loads that have something like a 12 watt standby draw according to the testers reviews... this will ad some efficiency to the system without buying a 3000 dollar inverter for the moment....

I still have to do more wiring in the barn and all takes time in between the family and livestock etc....I am as slow as molasses in January in South Dakota.. i think it was 20 degrees Fahrenheit yesterday but the sun was out...

That green wire does not go to the hall sensor; those only have 2 wires (red/black).

Looks like your camera lens is a bit foggy 😉

And...I will be extremely surprised if the tranny does 10kw continuous.  PJ spec would be closer to 7kw continuous expected.

If you can get the strand count (#of strands per AC output line and FET board lines), it would be possible to estimate maximum continuous load.  Knowing the turns/volt number would also help in that regard.

Powerjack inverter  has a lot of room to do repair and easy to repair .  I  would not  try to repair a GS 12kw inverter as there is NO room  and  the whole inverter may be disassemble  just to replace the FETs  .     The workers in China will  have nightmare  assembling the GS 12kw  within  a mm and not short the bus bar .
