Well, a recheck of the order on the backend system shows that order #269 was placed as a 24v inverter--which is what was delivered. I have no idea where "36v" is coming from.
ANYWAY. The inverter can be reconfigured for 36v; we will send the necessary 2 fans to your buddy's address. And I will be happy to provide support via video call to make sure everything goes smoothly.

You'll have to void the software warranty to change the system setup--which is what we would have to do anyway. There's no "secret back door" ways around that--apart from reflashing the entire control board to a clean slate! But that warranty gate is purposely in place because reconfiguring the transformer isn't something to do lightly, and without proper testing, it's really easy for things to go *poof*. Which is why I always offer to be on video call just to ensure the necessary testing is done to verify the transformer config before powering the inverter up.
