When the GS12kw warranty run out  in  another  year  will there be mainboard and C2 control board available  for  DIY repair ?   I  do not have the box  for any return shipping  .    Youtube say  Sean will  not be making any more GS12kw inverter  until he has  100 thousand dollars of orders .

I will do my best to support GS inverters as long as I can.  If I'm not mistaken, all GS 12kw inverters that were shipped have C3 control boards (as that was the production run).  Mainboards/FET boards can be ordered without too much difficulty.

Without the shipping box, the inverter really can't/shouldn't be shipped.

We had one customer return-ship a GS inverter in their own packaging--and it was a shipping disaster.  It was a wonder that the inverter was still inside what was left of the box when it arrived...there's a reason we have extra-heavy boxes with fitted foam.

I  like  buy a new  GS12kw  after  3 years .   Will Sean  sell Mainboards/FET boards and C3  board  and LCD  for spare parts after years ?

@sid-genetry-solar I'd say that story was related to my sent back inverter. It's not easy to find a proper fitting box. Any clue yet what that inverters going to need, I'm guessing the fet board?

It look like your inverter is still at Sean shop .  My GS12kw is working good but if it quit working I will not send it back to Sean .   After 3 years  I like to buy mainboard or control board or LCD  for DIY repair myself .   If  Sean get enough money  according to youtube  to make  another  production run  then I will  buy another GS12kw  but I  will not  wait  9 months for delivery or repair .  Thank  you  for your posting  on this and the other forum .

@bossrox I'm on the design side of things, so I don't have access to detailed info on the customer side of things.  I don't recall which customer sent the GS inverter back in a non-original box--but I do recall that the stainless-steel case was severely bent due to shipping damage, and IIRC there were broken PCBs internally as a result.  With a badly damaged case, it was effectively a write-off.

also reminds me of a package someone sent me last month through USPS: mail service had to have literally run it over with a mail truck for who knows what reason.  It was a small package, less than 1lb...but the box was flattened, and inside, the aluminum caps on the PCBs were literally crushed.

Don't believe me?

There were 3-4 PCBs total, and every one of the electrolytic capacitors was crushed.  Somehow the PCBs were undamaged...I just had to replace the caps (and clean the electrolyte off the PCB).

While heavy packages tend to get dropped and/or even thrown, I can't figure out how small stuff gets treated so badly sometimes...

@sid-genetry-solar Sean sent me a pic of my inverter as it got there with the box tore wide open but he said it didn't appear to have any damage, whew!
