You beat me to checking it 😉.
Interesting that the "bill of lading" lists Chicago, IL as the "destination port". However, the ship tracking indicates a destination of "USA LGB"--which is Long Beach, California. This must mean that the order will be transferred to a train, and sent by rail to Chicago, IL--after which it will be transferred to a truck and delivered to Sean.

Freight shipping often changes carriers at key points. Stuff shipped here inevitably reaches Seattle where the tracking ends ("delivered" - oh my) and then is moved to a ferry with a new carrier (and tracking #) for the long journey up.
The ship is in Long Beach

About time! Now it has to transit to Chicago, IL by rail. Not sure what tracking we might have for that...I'll have to ask the shipping company.
Ship has left port
Any more tracking?
I do not have any further tracking information from the shipping company at the current time. What we did run into was a potentially serious issue with the import logistics though...fortunately we were able to work out a solution. Whew!
Apparently solar panels/modules and any materials used to produce solar panels imported from China were hit with heavily tariffs ("countervailing duties") within the last few months--and the tariff rates are so high that an import bond company basically will refuse to post an import bond on your behalf. In other words, you have to literally take $50,000+ and throw it to the wind ("post an import bond"). Which is simply not at all possible for us humble earthlings at Genetry Solar.
Oh, and if you decide to stop importing and end the bond...you won't get the bond money back for THREE YEARS, as that's the duration of time that claims can be made against a shipment. We aren't rappers: we don't have money to throw away like that 🤪.
So what does that have to do with us at Genetry Solar? We aren't importing solar panels (and never have): we're importing materials to build LF inverters.
Well, only it had everything to do with our name, plus some "profiling" by the bond company. Genetry Solar? "Oh," says the bond company, "you must be importing solar panels. We can't cover you."
I sent a passioned email to the head boss of our local shipping company, and he went to bat for us with the bond company. We ended up needing to provide a signed and dated letter stating that we at Genetry Solar never have and will not be importing solar panels (or any materials used to produce solar panels)...after which the bond company finally gave in and provided an import bond for us. (Which we received literally earlier today.)
Whew.
Didn't need those gray hairs at this point!
This should secure the release of the shipment from the import port.
Wow.... wonder if that was the original issue with the factory

Well, they simply just didn't order the goods in China--so it never got to an "export level", much less the U.S. CBP level.
Not to mention that PJ was wholly responsible for their own transport logistics chain. Our name may have been on the boxes themselves, but all importing and transport was through their chosen channels.

Powerjack do not make solar panel and get special treament on shipping . USA company is tax for solar parts if it come from China . The list of USA company not tax 30 percent or more . I really like Sunpower panels of 60 VOC . Sean may be tax if Genetry Solar sell used Chian panel ??
thanks for sharing enerysage.com
I see "average joe" and "will prowse" youtube videos now have decibel meters on some of the inverters they are showing... talking about noise and what they note from the inverter fans.... yes inverter noise is a definite consumer concern.....
I bought a 5 pack of 12 volt computer fans for $20.89 dollars (including tax and free delivery) brand new for low noise and more air flow from newegg.com on May 1st and they arrived in 3 days >>> they are 120mm fans with standard 3 pin connectors..... inexpensive cooling... do not see how many cfm rating but they are super quiet
- 5 Pack of 120mm Black Case Fans
- Three-Pin Connector and LP4 Connector
- Super Quiet Case Fan with 22dBA Noise Level
- High-Quality Sleeve Bearing for Ultra-Long Lifespan
- 7 Blades and 1200RPM +/- 10% RPM Rotation Speed for Excellent Airflow
I do note the off-grid solar power shed is starting to warm up some so I bought an window AC for 25 dollars but will likely employ the screen door to allow heat to escape for no cost for a while yet.... rained last night so that also helped to cool it down... seems to change temperature every day in the spring but I am glad the snow is gone.....
have a great weekend all.....😎
last night >>> my Mennonite friend in Bolivia told me the electric and the neighbors horse did not fare well when it got tangled in the 240 volt wire.... he said he had to pay for the neighbors horse..... evidently they did not install the wire high enough to keep the critters safe from it...and it killed the horse!!! so be safe in all you do with electricity....🤔🤔🤔

Frankly, I also wondered about what solar specific products Genetry sells. Don't really see any. Battery inverters are not solar specific. Maybe take solar out of the name.

This isn't necessary; we can easily at any point sell solar panels or solar-specific products as we grow.
What we can't do is import said products from China. Not without posting a huge bond, anyway.

i agree as the inverter actually only converts dc battery power to ac power....and is not doing anything to collect solar energy, wind energy, or any renewable energy.... the compamy name is a bit misleading vs their actual for sale items on the Genetry web site....
the only product is an inverter that uses the spwm method to try to mimic the AC grid power.
the electrician Dustin highly recommends the electrically insulative pads to quiet the transformer metal on metal vibrations of the laminated transformer core... quiet down the transformer hum....
I ran into the anti-dumping tariff tax issue when looking to import solar PV panels and found they could be sourced from USA suppliers for the same money in any quantity needed.....

The large shipping expense is the profit killer.... with big heavy awkward items,,,,
i think it would be better to sell in a retail store and avoid the extra shipping costs....

This is the case...only at the moment. There are plans for more products in the future, including products that directly work with solar.
Purposely backing ourselves into a corner based on our current offerings is just dumb.

All the more power to your new block-and-mortar store venture.
