Thing is, I hesitate to make a major switch like this without fully testing things.
I have no way to test the RUI FETs at 18000 watts . IT was 115 degree in the summer and the RUI FETs is only 120 degree F . I can load the 15kw PJ to 4000 watts in the summer and turn the inverter on and off at that load and no problem and do not have to wait for inverter to cool .
Tossing the Saturday Live Stream link on here in case anyone is reading this. YouTube Link

I made a test bench to test the main board and ribbon cable and control board and LF driver of 9k to 30kw Powerjack inverters . IF replacing new mosboard or LF driver and NOT testing the above then a bad mainboard will destroy all your new parts . When the FETs explode then the LF driver and ( control board that was good ) will be destroy most of the time and now everything need to be replace again . Sean talk about this on youtube and show the stupid trace design on the Powerjack mainboard .
November 1, 2022:
-
GS 12kw production unit PASSES the surge test with an A/C compressor rated 109A LRA.
- we will be switching to Ruichips FETs.
- keeping current low-resistance transformer spec
-
Factory production delay seems to be that they are producing other inverter orders...which they hope to finish this coming Saturday. Then to produce the GS-spec inverters.
- I wish that we didn't have these delays, BUT I'm glad that we have been able to sort out several design challenges with the extra time.

My 15kw PJ never overheat at 115 degree F this summer with RUI and 2 delta fans this summer but not run the 4 ton heat pump this year . RUI temp never higher than 120 degree F .
Just discovered that it won't charge when in under voltage trip
we will be switching to Ruichips FETs
Glad that is worked out. Hope we can get some spare parts for sale after the main rush of inverters is done. We may never need them, but I like having a few gives me a little more comfort knowing I have something to try.
Curious do you have the heating option installed for winter too?
Yes the heat pump has aux heating coil that use 10kw . No Powerjack can handle 10kw in the winter plus the 4 kw of the heat pump running . I use portable heaters in the winter . I did not use run the heat pump with the 15kw Powerjack this year . A GS 12kw will pay for itself in 2 years of running a 4 ton heat pump in Arizona .
Nice, how many FETs does your unit have?
I have 24 RUI FETs on ONE tiny rev 11.3 mainboard with 4 capacitors . I added 6 capacitors from the large mainbord that originally in this 15kw Powerjack . Now one mainboard and 10 capacitors and a rev 11.3 control board and no red light alarm at over 4 kw . Now run hot water heater OR 5 hp air compresor . Next year try run 4 ton heat pump .
Hope we can get some spare parts for sale after the main rush of inverters is done.
The last youtube I think Sean mumbled that no spare parts for sale or buyer may think there is somthing wrong with the GS inverter . I see how difficult it is to replace mosboard and no room to get tool inside of inverter that most people will not try to fix and no way to test the contol board and LF driver and mainboard when the FETs blow up .
I think it's more along the lines of getting the product finished first
Because the units are thermally protected we really aren't going to have common failure big parts but FETs and drivers are most likely the only thing that fails and that should be rare
The driver board is isolated so the logic board should be fine even after failure
Much of what's gone into the last several months has been to make these very hard to kill unless shorted

Yeah that is how I took it too. I am sure he will get some setup. The reality is that FETs will just go eventually they heat cycle a bunch and start going bad over time. They won't go bad for years so its not a hurry I just like to buy stuff as soon as it comes available and have spares since my cabin is way in the woods so I like to have spares ready to go.

Wow that is a squeeze to make all that fit. I have a long main board and older stuff in general Sean built up my unit from a bunch of 8K spare parts back a few years ago with the one the first Wifi Boards that they invented. I have of course done quite a few updates to it replaced all the caps and have fixed the crappy wire routing and bad soldering inside.
